Rules for disciplines at UNI DM 2000

Foreigners participate outside the national competition, and can not become the Danish champion. DM is not split in age groups for foreigners (because we do not expect that many) but boys and girls do not compete against each others.

Tania from Jægerspris, DM 97
Ring riding

You have to catch a ring with a stick. The ring is hanging in two lines. To get a point, you have to catch the ring and keep it on the stick.

The competition is made in rounds. The rounds are referring to the size of the ring. In each round the rider has 5 attempts to catch the ring. You have to catch the ring 3 times or more to qualify for the next round. All 5 rounds have to be made to make the score more actuate.

The competition starts with the largest ring and the rings keep getting smaller in every new round. There will be 5 rounds.

To earn a point you have to:

·      Start 7 m. from the ring.
·
You must keep an continuous forward motion.
·
The tip of the stick can only pass the ring once.
·      You are not allowed to tough the ground.
·
The ring have to stay on the stick until you give it to the scorekeeper.

The winner is the one that can catch the smallest ring the most times. In case of equal score, the winner is found by the previews rings.

IUF obstacle course

This is an internationally designed course. The focus is at the basic skills on a unicycle; riding and turning. The course is on time.

A drawing of the course.

You have to go around the 10 cones in the right way. The directions will be marked on the ground. You can hit the cones but not tip them over.

The course have to be followed the correct way. If you flip over a cone, fall of your unicycle or go the wrong direction, you loose that attempt. You have 3 attempts. The fastest time counts.

The cones are traffic cones.

Running start is not allowed. The timer is counting your start.

Surprise-obstacle course

There is a number of obstacles, but it is your choice if you want to cross them or not. If you successfully cross an obstacle you get a time bonus. The racing time will be subtracted your bonus. The size of the time bonus depends on the difficulty of the obstacle.

Additional rules:

·      The start and end of an obstacle will be marked with a line.
·
If you dismount in the attempt of crossing an obstacle, you have to start over at the start line of the obstacle if you want to achieve the bonus.
·
You are not allowed to distract other riders. If you go around some body, the person in front of you have the right away.
·
You are allowed to dismount between the obstacles but you have to mount at the same spot.

The vinner is the one with the fastest end time. End time is racing time minus bonus.

The obstacles will soon be published with the time bonus on each.

Slow race

You ride as long time as you can on a board 15 cm wide and 10 m long. It will count as a fault if you  go off the board, jump, turn more than 45 degrees, go backward or fall.

With a fault you loose that "racing" attempt. The timer start the time when the rider crosses the starting line and the time is stopped when the rider crosses the finish line 10 meter later.

You have 3 attempts. The longest time counts.

Wheel walk

This is new in Denmark. You have to walk on your wheel, like Andy here.

The race is on a racing track or indoor. The race have tracks for each rider. You will start 4-8 people from the same age group at the same time. You start with your feet at the wheel but can get support from a pole.

Because it is our first attempt with this discipline, you can choose between 3 distances; 5m. 10m. or 30m. You have to walk strait and stay in your own track. You are not allowed to tough the other riders.

If you fall off or go into somebody else track you are disqualified.
